Dear lostshooter, I chose this photo to be the first I added to my album of favourites, because the contrast between the rusted metal and unforgiving lines of the swing chair and softness of the boy's tender face was painfully beautifully. A striking tribute to the manner children ( and the hope they bring) survive in the midst of all our adult decay and madness.
yes, i speculate that the swing set was moved indoors because of bombings and shootings. no other reason makes much sense unless there was a lack of room. but, there really was a lack of room in the classroom for the number of children that were there, so that doesn't really seem likely either.
This is a really nice shot, I like the expression on the young boy's face and the "distressed" look of the swing really clues you in to the situation (even without the title). One thing you might want to do for this shot, though, is disable the "full-resolution download' option: right now anyone can download the full-res file.
